Coin Counter for Ages 2-4
Count the coins and make the change.
Coin Counter asks the child to add up a handful of coins, identify a named coin, or choose the coins that make a given amount. Money is the most common place children meet addition outside a classroom, and coins are awkward in a useful way: their value has nothing to do with their size.
The 2-4 level is coin recognition only: naming and pointing out coins, with no adding up yet.
What it teaches
- Recognising coins by name and value
- Adding coin values to find a total
- Making a given amount from different coins
- Real-world addition practice
How to play
- Look at the coins laid out on the screen.
- Add up their values, starting with the biggest.
- Tap the total, or tap the coin the question asks for.
- Some rounds ask you to build an amount from coins.
