Number Crunch for Ages 5-7

Count what you see, then tap the number.

Number Crunch shows a group of objects and asks how many there are. It is the bridge between saying number words out loud and recognising written numerals: the child has to count a real set, then pick the digit that matches. The picture set changes between rounds so the counting stays about the quantity rather than a memorised image.

The 5-7 level counts up to twelve and introduces ten frames, skip counting in 2s and 5s, and ordinal position. Ten frames matter here because they are how most classrooms teach children to see seven without recounting from one.

1. Look at the group of objects on the screen.
2. Count them carefully. Pointing at the screen helps.
3. Tap the number that matches how many you counted.
4. Some rounds ask which group has more, or what comes next in a count.
